It's all about lifestyle

I too have read about the decrease in calories being the most beneficial. In as much as I think eating less is always better than eating too much, there are a lot of other factors to keeping us healthy and young. Here are a couple of articles that may interest you:

Calorie retricted Diet

This is a fascinating subject, and I agree with your comments also, Prabal. We will be learning much more soon, I'm sure.

All of this makes perfect sense, and is borne out by examples all around. Think about it, how many elderly obese people do you know? But even as the research comes to light, very few will change their bad habits. As the old joke goes, "I'd do anything to be thin, except diet!"

Calorie retricted Diet

I am pretty sure that we are in the cusp of a great discovery that will change many things. I would put this on the same scale as flying changed the world in early 20th century...

telomerase redux

Juliana, a two word google search offers an answer to your question. Here's the first hit: http://www.web-books.com/MoBio/Free/Ch7C.htm

Guess which two words I used?

telomerase

telomerase is an enzyme found at the tips of chromosomes, that helps pull chromosomes apart during cell division. WHAT could it have to do with aging?????
