Commuting by bike

I live in New York City

Why does the US Postal Service NOT allow bikes into post offices ?

Commuter Bikes

My wife has cervical spine (neck) problems, and finds riding a bike that requires her to look up, as in the racing crouch, difficult and painful. So she likes the old-time "cruiser." A supine bike would be even better, but it might be tough and not so safe for a sixty-five year old woman with osteoporosis to balance on such, even if she could mount/dismount. Where is the Love Seat Tricycle that lets old farts fall onto the seat?

Biking to Work

We all probably have known someone who has biked to work.

But sadly this America, not Europe or Asia.

Europeans still cluster around their workplace, where as

starting in the frties and fifties we American all just had to move to the suburbs or further, not uncommon to have over a forty mile commute.

Not really conductive to taking ones bike to work.

Even where biking to work is feasible, one had to be either brave or foolish to want to mix with our traffic which seems to detest bike riders!

Just my thoughts

Everyone should own a delta trike...love'm

Long-time cyclist

The bicycle has been my primary means of transportation for the past 19 years. I have biked considerable distances, such as to San Francisco (40 miles one-way) 21 times, to Gilroy (also about 40 miles), 3 times, to Oakland, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz, Hollister, and even Sausalito once each. I've had 20 bikes, 3 fell apart, my current bike, which I've had for 2 weeks, is also falling apart, and the others got stolen, 8 in San Francisco alone despite being locked. They are of various types, some road-touring, mostly mountain bikes, one or two hybrids.

Comfort bike

I have very short legs, and I am looking for a bike that look like a pashey princess Soverion, but has step through and flat foot technology, breaks on the handle, comphy saddle, all in one.

Commuter Bikes, Not!

How ironic, we're supposed to ride bikes to work, while the Chinese are happily buying cars, go figure! Try bicycling to work in the winter, when it's raining, or the wind is gusting to 50mph, then buy a smaller car, have less children, and eat local vegetables. Most of the people who are paying $100 plus at the pump in suburbia are simply reaping the rewards of huge SUV's, powerboats, etc. Too bad, too sad.

biIKE SEATS

The bike you show has a poor seat. We need more support of our butts, especially men! And softer, with springs too!
