Tatoos

I think that a tattoo id thought out and placed right can be a beutiful thing. Tattoos have been around for thousands of years and used as a mark of honor and recpect. If you had to have a tattoo to drive a beamer you would not think that tattoos where so bad!!!

Another thing

Though I will admit there are risks to getting tattoos, you would never think of the risks of eating the foods we eat. Culturally accepted things are never studied by the vast amount of the population due to a wide set acceptance of its use. Look at our country and then much of the eastern hemisphere. In America it is widely accepted to eat pork daily yet tattoos are highly criticized. Have you thought of how many tape worms you probably have from eating swine your entire life? We are a diseased people from what we consume, much more highly diseased from this than tattoos. Then on the opposite side, tattoos are widely accepted in the eastern hemisphere and therefore not studied by the individual, yet eating pork is not accepted so many examinations of the threats are apparent in society. Don't be close-minded, please.

In response to the "if God wanted"

Well, in that case, I guess He wants us to sin since we're born with depraved minds, right? You're ridiculous. I have 3 tattoos: agape [unconditional love] on the inside of my right wrist where Christ was pierced, phileo [brotherly love] on my left and Isaiah 53:5 [For he was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities. Upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace. By his stripes we are healed.] on the outside of my right ankle where the Savior's leg would be held to the cross. These are here to remind me, visually, everyday of my enslavement to Christ Jesus my Lord, and memorized to meditate on them when I am visually reminded. I don't think anyone would "second guess" my convictions of Leviticus 11 when I explain this to them with the authority of Christ in holy Scriptures backing me up. The Mosaic law has been broken by Christ yet the Law of God has been fulfilled, yet not abolished, by his coming [1 Timothy 4, Matthew 5:17]. The reason the world hates Christians is because of arrogant fools, such as yourselves, misrepresenting the love of Christ.

Tattoos ae stupid

Thank you, US News and World Report, for pointing out the stupidity and long term negativism of tattoos. My daughter asked for one over a year ago, I said no, and then I showed her this article later on. She is now dead set against tattoos.

Thanks again for stating the plain facts and doing the right thing for the youth of America.

lol

your statement became void as soon as you said this "I DON'T THINK GOD MEANT" key word GOD, how about you shut up, and let ppl do what they want. yes its dangerous, but thats a risk some ppl are willing to take.

p.s. i am planning on getting a full sleeve in a year or so.

Use your head

I have many tattoos and they all have meaning. I have a memorial for my grandaughter who died at birth and it reminds me everyday i look at my angel wings of a baby who was loved and lost. adults should educate themselves before getting one and never recieve a tattoo on a whim!!! remeber, they are perment!!!

TATTOOS

I DON'T THINK ANYONE SHOULD GET ONE, I HAD A SISTER IN LAW DIE OF HEPITITUS C CAUSED FROM TATTOOS. NOW THAT IS SOMETHING TO THINK OVER. YEARS DOWN THE ROAD DO YOU WANT YOUR LIVER TO FAIL BECAUSE OF A TATTOO? GRAVITY PULLS OUR SKIN DOWN AS WE AGE AND YOUR TATTOOS WILL BE PULLED DOWN TO AND NOT LOOK SO GOOD ANYMORE. I DON'T THINK GOD MEANT FOR US TO HAVE PICTURES ALL OVER OUR BODY OR HE WOULD OF GIVEN THEM TO US AT BIRTH!

no!!

All this isn't true at all, tattoos are good for the body, it's a spiritual and natural art form.

Quit lying to all of these helpless people..

wow, who would have thought that tattoos can do so much damage. I have often thought about the after effect of tattoos, and I also thought about getting one done with my childrens names, but thank goodness I was always to chicken to do it. My heart goes out to those who suffer from any kind of side effects from getting tattoos.
