virtual colonography

I am disappointed that Medicare does not allow VC. It seems to me, and I am one of those people, most people would prefer something less invasive and would be more willing to be tested. I have had colonoscopies in the past (my doctor wants me to have another now) and it is very traumatic for me. Besides, I believe this procedure is less costly. A friend of mine does these procedures and he says if they find anything that looks questionable they inform the physician and then a colonoscopy can be done for a more definitive diagnosis, if not then everyone has benefitted. I heard that there have been instances with the colonoscopy where the probe has lacerated the colon causing more problems, however I don't know any statistics for this.
