My sister just passed away and she had been on the patch for over 18 years. She had pulmonary emboli and also pelvic cancer.
Her Doctor had suggested shse go off the patch several times but she felt she would not be able to tolerate the symptoms of going off. She had a hysterectomy in 1991 due to severe endometriosis.
I believe the cause of the emboli was the patch.
