Holy cow. jacksmith's comment almost sounds halfway logical until you read the parts where it says, "Progressive democrats the Tri-Caucus and others should stand firm in their demand for a robust government-run public option for all Americans,"
and, "If President Obama has to declare a NATIONAL STATE OF EMERGENCY to rescue the American people from our healthcare crisis, he will need all the sustained support you can give him. STICK WITH HIM! He's doing a brilliant job."
Don't give up your guns, and do not vote for a government-run = government-OWNED healthcare program. Socialism is one step closer to communism, and the "common good" is a big, fuggin lie.
Obesity report card
I work at a health insurer and have seen how health programs that tackle obesity can work. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina has been covering obesity as a primary condition for years with some good success. We were recognized for our role in preventing and treating obesity in February by former President Bill Clinton when he announced the formation of the Alliance Healthcare Initiative. It’s an important issue, especially in North Carolina, which has the fifth highest rate of overweight and obese youth in the nation. And WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES will have to face this PANDEMIC with the 37th worst quality of healthcare in the developed World.
STAND READY AMERICA TO SEIZE CONTROL OF YOUR NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.
We spend over twice as much of our GDP on healthcare as any other country in the World. And Individual American spend about ten times as much out of pocket on healthcare as any other people in the World. All because of GREED! And the PRIVATE FOR PROFIT healthcare system in America.
And while all this is going on, some members of congress seem mostly concern about how to protect the corporate PROFITS! of our GREED DRIVEN, PRIVATE FOR PROFIT NATIONAL DISGRACE. A PRIVATE FOR PROFIT DISGRACE that is in fact, totally valueless to the public health. And a detriment to national security, public safety, and the public health.
Progressive democrats the Tri-Caucus and others should stand firm in their demand for a robust public option for all Americans, with all of the minimum requirements progressive democrats demanded. If congress can not pass a robust public option with at least 51 votes and all robust minimum requirements, congress should immediately move to scrap healthcare reform and request that President Obama declare a state of NATIONAL HEALTHCARE EMERGENCY! Seizing and replacing all PRIVATE FOR PROFIT health insurance plans with the immediate implementation of National Healthcare for all Americans under the provisions of HR676 (A Single-payer National Healthcare Plan For All).
Coverage can begin immediately through our current medicare system. With immediate expansion through recruitment of displaced workers from the canceled private sector insurance industry. Funding can also begin immediately by substitution of payroll deductions for private insurance plans with payroll deductions for the national healthcare plan. This is what the vast majority of the American people want. And this is what all objective experts unanimously agree would be the best, and most cost effective for the American people and our economy.
In Mexico on average people who received medical care for A-H1N1 (Swine Flu) with in 3 days survived. People who did not receive medical care until 7 days or more died. This has been the same results in the US. But 50 million Americans don’t even have any healthcare coverage. And at least 200 million of you with insurance could not get in to see your private insurance plans doctors in 2 or 3 days, even if your life depended on it. WHICH IT DOES!

Not an easy problem
I am a specialist in a middle class suburb.The vast majority of my patients are intelligent, working and attempt to do the best they can to care for their health. However they have medical problems that often are not their fault. these problems require expensive medications and perodic testing that is expensive. I have been in practice for over fifty years and can take the time to talk with my patients. I am still in practice to help these patients not make money.I think this is true for the majority of the other doctors in my area, but to stay in practice we have to be aware of the bottom line like any business. Cutting 'waste' sound good but may not be a reality when trying to care for patients with difficult medical problems.
Sickness in the spirit, heart and head preceeds sickness in the body
Our current system is one designed to give financial rewards to those who will keep you alive enough to pay, and sick enough to keep coming back. The insurance industry needs you well enough to work and pay, and the medical profession needs you ill enough to require treatment. Insurance wants to collect as high as possible of a premium while instilling enough fear that you don't dare not pay... and medical industry needs to keep you coming back for more treatment, without ever getting you well enough to not need them, and BOTH of these parasites want prices as high as they can get to maximize how much they can siphon off of the HOST. ( that's you, pardner! )
Real answer is take control of your OWN health, and trust GOD, as he is still the ONLY one who heals. The others just treat symptoms till your body heals itself according to the grand design that GOD built in.
Quit eating all the poison ( refined, artificial and unhealthy ) and watch what happens when you Glorify GOD with your body by doing things according to HIS plan.
Foolish Government
Anyone that thinks that government workers can come up with a better plan than industry experts existing in a competitive marketplace is a fool. The plans put on the table by politicians voted in by a laze public do not address the main issue in health care- the cost. The main reason health care is so expensive is three fold. One - the customer doesn't shop and understand what it cost to see a doctor. Example: do you know what a doctors visit costs? If you said #10 co pay you are part of the problem. It's easy to waste the doctors time when you think it only costs $10. Two: Lawyers make laws that make lawyers rich. Getting paid for sueing the medical establishment has a big payday. Torte reform is a must. The abuse is rediculous. Three: The FDA regulations exclude lower priced alternatives that are perfectly OK. Once again the polititians get paid by the special interest groups that represent the health industry which impedes the entrance of more cost effective solutions into the system.
WE NEED LESS GOVERNMENT AND LAWS AND MORE COMMON SENSE. Think again before saying you want to pay for 40% of Americans Health Care. They will go to the doctor when it is not necessary and receive testing they don't need just so the doctor can cover his or her bum from law suits. And the patient won't have a choice.
Stimulus funding mainly goes toward bank deposit increasing jobless rate
People are so worried about losing their job, coverage, denial of treatment, which seems to increase bank deposit latetly. That means stimulus funding mainly goes toward bank deposit for a rainy day increasing jobless rate. It proves again that healthy society yields better productivity, prosperity.
It is time to 'Change' the notion of the public health as a fundamental human right and install 'a safety system for all' like all of the other industrialized nations, I think.
Healthcare reform needed
Just please make it honest and efficient, not just more bureaucratic.
As Colin Powell recently mentioned, what we need is a government that works. Indeed! Same with the healthcare reform package.
Just get the best and brightest to make sure it actually works efficiently.
