My Fellow Americans - You just don't get it yet - do you?

A century of manipulation by Psychiatry industry spun from thin air by the medical profession as factual science & medicine is still pulling the strings of the puppets it created - red flags are all over that health care is a ship sinking from the weight we've let the AMA & pharmaceudical mfrs stack on the decks - while we mooh like cattle below deck too stupid to see we will drown if we let this continue - unchecked.

My friend died this year at age 39 because he couldn't afford medical insurance to cover vavle replacement he needed to live. Its not affordable anymore because 50% of Americans with kids with below avg IQ's think $500 a month RX for ADHD will make a dumb kid smarter - or happier in life. Psycho - therapy and related drugs have never helped anyone - they just have you sonvinced its needed. You want it anyway - fine - but get your rain dance - voodoo healing costs out of my policy to cover broken bones, cancer, etc ... PLEASE PEOPLE. Happy pills are popular because you don't pay for them out of your pocket so it seems free - so what the hell right? You want it - you pay for it - and see if you think its needed after all.

coverage

This is great and a feat needed to be established. I think the firist ammendment should cover that.

I too have Bi-Polar disorder and have felt maked for life since my diagnoses. I am proud of this 15 year old and what she stands for. I pray that more develop this strength.

health insurance discriminates

Insurance companies should not be able to DISCRIMINATE! That is what they are doing when they can charge different people different prices for the same policies or charge higher

prices because of age, sex, or pre-existing conditions

(or deny coverage)!!

What

other company in this country can legally discriminate?!???

Mental health,"the brain", is part of the physical body-it should be covered no different than the coverage for other "body parts"!!!

insurance

What i really didn't understand about the insurance industry is that if you have Home Owners insurance that should cover the home. Now in reading this passage i learned that the insurance industry makes more money providing individual policies. To me that's a scam. There should be a policy that includes all damages caused by accident and tagedy. Now from my understanding in having Home Owners insurance it does cover some workers comp accidents correct me if i'm wrong and the coverage of a nonresident of the home if he or she has been hurt on the property. Now there is a separate policy for flood insurance, which is important. They both are. This is a slippery

One bite at the apple "insurance"

Health insurance has adopted the model of single event coverage at an affordable price. Similar to "flood" protection in FL, a single health event will catapult insureds into a world of price gouging for coverage if any can be found at all FOREVER. It's a simple problem, health insurers make maximum dollars when they pay out zero on claims, therefore, their goals are to pay out zero whereas insureds want maximum coverage for as little as possible. However, both extremes are cases that negate the need for insurance...if insurance pays nothing we don't need to buy it and if we have good health we don't need health insurance. It is the RISK of medical needs and the cost of medical needs that justifies the insurance industry. So let's get back to the FL flood-area insurance companies, many dropped insureds who never had a flood claim because of where the homes were located. The STATE contracted with an insurance company willing to cover those homes and the COST for that insurance was lower than the original policies. Later, the private insurance companies came back and said they WOULD cover the homes they originally dropped or wanted to charge more for, but those with the state sponsored policies had no incentive to switch back and risk being dropped or overcharged again. Governmental action in terms of prosecuting insurers who price gouge insureds and in terms of preventing such price gouging to begin with as well as legislative mandates requiring that insurance actually cover risks of illness is the only way to go.

Fewer people will get health insurance because of this

Requiring insurers to cover mental health will result in their denying coverage to more people.

When I left graduate school and student health coverage, I tried to buy health insurance since I was starting a small business. Blue Cross of CA rejected me because I had gone to a therapist for anxiety/depression during a painful breakup while cramming for PhD exams. I haven't been able to get health coverage with any major health insurance company in California for the last 6 years.

For nothing more than "anxiety" during graduate school -- a perfectly sane reaction! -- I am now denied regular health insurance for life. I've wound up with limited insurance from a lousy company that charged me a $5000 co-pay the one time I've ever been to a hospital, and I have a $428/month premium.

Due to this ill-advised bill, I predict that health insurers will use "mental health" as an excuse to deny coverage. Anyone who's ever gone to a therapist... YOU could lose your coverage like I did!

Read the fine print

Let's see. McCain would like us all buying our own policies. And first sentence of second paragraph says this law would not apply to people buying their own policies.

Anyone see the clouded future of this and everything else in health care until the Republican liars and tricksters are pushed to the side?
