Managing Bipolar Disorder

There are effective ways to manage bipolar disorder. Medicines for bipolar can truly help stabilize the condition; however, even once the symptoms seem to be better, the medication must be continued. When a person stops taking his or her medications, symptoms often return. Continuous treatment has proved more effective in preventing relapses and controlling cycling. Before you stop your medication, consult a physician.

If you know someone whom you suspect has untreated bipolar, or who has stopped taking their medication, encourage them to see a healthcare provider.
