You local hospital can not compare against the Teaching Hospitals they force the dicipline, have the high volume of patients and all the latest technology.

The past,present, and future

I have worked as a traveler at 10 of the top 25 hospitals. I can say without a doubt that all these studies are done with bias, old reputation, the buddy system ( you scatch my back and I will scrath yours) They are good hospitals but no better than a hospital in South Carolina or Oklahoma. When someone has a heart attack in Baltimore they want to go to the best cardiac hospital around. If you go by this report John Hopkins is the top but in reality Union Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph's Medical Center get most of the AMI's and heart related patients. These types of hospitals are the real backbone in saving lives. When nothing else can be done or more agressive or experiemental procedures are needed these teaching hospitals are utilized. They are needed and will always be their for trauma, transplant, and specialty procedures. Please let these reviews be fair and concerned more with the local hospital and its impact on their community.

I did not see Memorial Hermann Hospitla - TMC , Houston Texas. where is it. What is the ranking of meorial hermann Hospital, for me this is one of the Bestof the Best hospital in TEXAS.

Please rell me what ranking LLUMC holds now. Am surprised it is not on the list. We used to go there all the way from Hawaii because it was the finest we knew. What happened to lose it from the list"?

Pedi Heart Surgery in CT

My Son was diagnosed at birth with a CHD. He had a hole three fourths the size of his heart wall . He went 3 weeks later to Bridgeport Hospital ER not eating, blue and barely breathing in congestive heart failure. Dr. K. Berkwitz (His cardiologist ) sent him via ambulance to Yale New Havens Children's Hospital. My son and I, stayed at Yale a week and we were taught how to administer all his new medications. Dr. Fahey was our Dr. and he was amazing. Four weeks later, we had gone past the point of medication, and needed surgery. Dr's Kopf and Mellon did Robbie's open hear surgery. The staff all remembered us, I was able to be with my son night and day never leaving his side and he was treated like a VIP! Which, to me he is. He was home like a whole new healthy chicd 4 days post OP. I owe everything to those Dr's and will be forever grateful. I tell my son, now 4 all the time that the Dr's fixed his broken heart, and he fixed mine. This coming Wed is Robbie's four Year Heart anniversary!

Well, this was certanly useful. We weree going to go to Mayo Clinic in Arizona, now i think we will go to Johns Hopkins Hospital. Does this list include teaching Hospitals?
