Veterans Administration Hospitals
More of a question than a comment. I wonder if some of the excellent Veterans Administration Hospitals are included in your studies. Many of our hospitals are on the cutting edge of research and patient care and if they were involved in the rating, then I truly believe the results would be different.

I am curious why Pediatrics was not included in the specialties listed. I work for Duke and do agree it is one of the best. We are also top ranking for being a best employer. If your employees are happy, you generally have happier patients. Maybe bedside manner and patient satisfaction should be a determining factor also.

I agree with Cindy...It's 'sister' in Troy as well - as a patient who has been admitted there oh, about 20 times since 12/05! I have little to no complaints about how I was treated - to the contrary, I was always given the best of care...it became almost comical, when I became rather well known as a 'repeater' (but affectionately, not derogatorily - I have a lung disease and bone marrow diseasse - both of which tend to go out of whack - particularly in cold/flue season (sept through may)

I think Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak Michigan should have made the list. It is a great hospital with superb care.

Children's Hospital of Michigan
Having trained at Harvard Medical Center, with most of my time at Children's Hospital in Boston, I feel that Children's Hospital of Michigan at Detroit Medical Center continues to be the best Children's Hospital in the U.S. The Staff, parent education and support and focus on the whole child is unsurpassed.
