oa in the knees

I have oa in the knees, I can't stand it anymore I want to know how I can lose this weight it hurts to excerise I go to water arobics 3 times a week its not enough, help.How can I get the weight off if I cant excerise. I wasn't always overweight I put most of this weight on 16 years ago when I had my son then I started going through menopause and with the fnances tight I cant affort to join a gym.. and I know I am trying to come up with excuses, the bad knees run in the family, I have cousins who weight 100 lbs wet that have the same problems and uncle that has knee repacement at 60. Thanks Hope

Doing 40 squats a day, change each leg forward for 20 reps, builds the muscle in front and around the knee and eliminated my knee pain.I am 42...
