You may not be able to prevent varicose veins, but you can keep them from getting worse

Varicose Veins
I take fish oil--Fisol brand, actually, to avoid "repeat" (burping fish taste) and within 30 days of taking it (3/day) my varicose vein was FLAT. My mother had a lot of these veins. I trained in the martial arts for about 20 years and only really had the one on top of my right shin that stood out, but have been getting a few minor ones over time. Fish oil allegedly increases the elasticity of the veins. All I know is, it works for me, and I recommend people try it before stuff like surgery.
varicose veins
My right leg is larger than my left leg - almost 1 inch at my calves. My doctor told me it may be deep varicose veins but did not check or run any tests. He said they are not always visible. This was about 10 years ago. About 5 years ago he put me on a water pill but that did not help. My leg is not sore, no symptoms of any kind. Has anyone heard of this and what can I do? I walk, ride a bike, swim, garden, exercise, etc. I am a 59 year old female.
varicose stockings
I have had varicose viens on both legs since a child, from mother I assume as she had them. while working, climbing up and down ladders and aong window sills as a window cleaner, under my trousers, they were out of sight and mind. Around my sixtieth year they brought themselves to my attention, casing me to seek advice.
The NHS supplied me with stockings which they measured to suit my legs. Unhappilly for me I could not wear them regularly, as much as I percivered. Even now at 82 I would love to wear them regularly but I find the uncomfortable, making my legs feel hot and unable to breath, as it were. Recent my legs have grown weak and painful when walking, diagnosed as old age, but I also believe it relatrs to poor circulation relating to my varicose viens, so I shall enquire to see if support stockings have improved by being made lighter and allowing the air to filter through. Such stockings would be welcome. Mr.Peter Smith.
