Stimulants
Oops, I mean unnatural. I guess I need some stimulants....sigh.
Stimulants
That is ridiculous. What pharmaceutical company needs these profits? How unnatrual - let's clean up what we eat, improve brain flow and get real.
death
>My brother inlaw took Ritalin that was perscribed by his Dr.
>He is in his40's Had massive heart attack.
>Took it again one year later and he died from taking this stimulant.
Thousands of people die each years of alcohol and tobacco.
A bunch of people die each year from eating nuts.
also valid points to consider.
death
My brother inlaw took Ritalin that was perscribed by his Dr. He is in his40's Had massive heart attack. Took it again one year later and he died from taking this stimulant.
Better Alternative
Brandon of Marylands comments were spot on, hope everyone reads them. What if I were to tell you there is a way to increase your memory, concentration, cognitive abilities, amount of blood vessels in your brain, while helping you boost productivity, prevent disease, and lose weight. Would you be interested? It is not a pill and it is backed by years of scientific evidence. Excuse the pun, it is a no brainer. Here is a hint. It is not a coincidence that 2 out of 3 Americans are overweight and that we have the highest rates of ADD in the world.
Here is an article that explains it all:

anyone know where to buy Adderall without prescription?
anyone know where to buy Adderall without prescription?
I've been looking around the web but it is very difficult to find.
Mainly because it is still under patent and they do not make a generic version yet.
Ritalin is very easy to find but the only online pharmacies offering it seemed a little shady and i couldn't find anything about them (positive or negative) on the web as to weather or not they are legit and will ship the product.
Please let me know!
ps: To people who like to judge and get offended by this article please consider this; people drink beer for pleasure only. Beer is responsible for a ridiculous amount of death and serious injuries every years with car accidents and fight due to it's aggressive behavior some of the users experience after using the drug.
Not counting all of the liver problems...
Taking a stimulant once in a while that is harmless enough for little kids to take on a daily basis to help you be more productive isn't that big of a deal when put in this context.
Steroids For The Brain?
Doesn't seem like there is much difference between taking these drugs to improve mental performance and taking steroids to improve physical performance. Both have known unpleasant side effects.
If there was a drug or supplement available that would increase intelligence without serious side effects, I would take it for sure. But as far as I know nothing like that yet exists.
Strong opposition
As both a nursing student and someone who has been diagnosed with ADHD (I have the EEG strips and neuro-bio feedback reports) I am in strong opposition of this idea. I fought against taking any form of stimulant to aid me until it became nearly impossible for me to focus. ADHD is not as well understood by the general public as most people like to think. It isn't a condition that "makes it hard to study". When you have it, it isn't just hard, it is near impossible because you cannot stop what I can best describe as static going in your head. I managed a 3.75 average in high school and excelled through most of college thanks to having very good study habits, however these habits have failed to be enough and as such have recently had to begin taking stimulant medications. By prescribing stimulant medications to anyone that desires them, not only does that have serious possible health implications (Hypertension, irregular heart rhythms, rapid heart rate, anorexia, nervousness, hyper-excitability, emotional imbalances, to name a few) but it also gives a pharmacologic edge to those who need no help, and at times, it can hamper those who take them and don't need them. This article pointed out that there are already college students illegally taking these which is true, however that does not justify prescribing them to just anyone. The fact is that these are a controlled substance that can have serious detrimental side effects both short term and long-term. We are already an over-medicated country, this will only add to the problems.
Actually I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes, and consider it a severe impairment, since as a child and up until the last few years as I approached 60, I had 15/20 and 18/20 vision respectively. Now that I see like everyone else, it's a real problem.
This is to say everyone- all human organisms (people) are different and the current standards for measuring the human condition like those used for blood pressure, diabetes, etc.... are at best inadequate. Just as people who know nothing of some basic science of the body are grossly inept to comment, outside of the realm of superstition.
This is the dumbest thing I've ever read
I can see it now:
"Improve your already healthy step. That's right! Start using crutches."
"You say you have 20/20 vision. Well, that's not good enough. Try a set of our free, new and improved glasses for only a year to see if your eyesight improves. ...and don't worry about the headaches. We have Paxil to give you."
"Try adding a bit of crude oil to your diet. Who knows, perhaps it might help your tan."
"Can't seem to get an erection at 75? Why not try having sex with a male"
"We hear your new car runs great. Why not add some sand to your oil mixture and see what happens."
