Pacifiers and back sleep decrease Slow Wave Sleep (SWS) in infants. SWS is when most infants die of SIDS. SWS is necessary for human development and learning. The symptoms of SWS deprivation are very similar to Autism. Could it be that for a slight risk reduction in SIDS we have caused an epidemic in Autism and ADHD?

I've read in the past that putting an infant to sleep with a pacifier actually DECREASES the risk of SIDS. Is this a new finding or is your information incorrect? Please clarify.

Your erroneous comment regarding the use of pacifiers increasing the risk of SIDS is contrary to recent published comments that the use of a pacifier MAY REDUCE the risk of SIDS. Providing incorrect information on subject matters such as SIDS is completely irresponsible and reduces your credibility to zero, and makes you look like lazy SOB's in the world of journalism.
