Breast Caner info.

How do I get free exam. for women clinic? I laid off and no health insurance and how do I get health care for preventing further?

Wow Andy of TX. Do you think she would have done something so drastic if the chances of her having more tumors in her other breast were very low? OF COURSE SHE WOULDN'T! That would be insane! But, if you weren't so ignorant on the subject and read the information that is out there, you would know that the chances of her having more tumors in her other breast are HUGE! What she did is not silly, maybe she doesn't want to go through this ordeal again in a few months or a few years when more tumors show up. Maybe she wanted to get it over with and not have that to worry about everyday for the rest of her life. It is amazing to me how many rude, mean-spirited, and nasty people feel it important to share their idiocy with everyone else.

To Andy

Andy, that's ridiculous. There is a very high chance she will get in the other breast too, why not take care of it now?

Removing all your internal organs would kill you, removing two breasts saves your life. Wait until the day you get cancer and it threatens your life and see what decisions you will make. Why do people make comments about topics they know NOTHING about???

Only the affected organ?

I must admit, it does seem strange to remove the non affect breast, but my personal experience changes that view. My sister died of breast cancer. One type of breast cancer appeared in her right breast, she had it removed. Several years later, another type of breast cancer appeared in her left breast. ( sorry I forget the types, but both breast cancer types)

If she knew she'd be alive today if she had her left breast removed when she had the right one removed, I'm certain she'd have opted to have both done at the same time, even though she suffered terribly from Lymphodema ( swelling caused by the removal of the lymph nodes) on the right side. Any other questions? Yes, drastic choice, but sure wonder what if...

GOOD LUCK CHRISTINA!

NO WOMAN SHOULD GO THROUGH THIS DISEASE. YOU ARE A BRAVE LADY.

HERE IN CANANA,VANCOUVER BC, YOU CAN'T EVEN GET A MAMMOGRAM UNTIL YOU ARE 40. UNLESS THERE IS A HISTORY OF BREAST CANCER IN THE FAMILLY, YOU JUST CAN'T GET ONE. CANCER STRIKES AT ALL AGES, BUT DETECTING IT EARLY CAN SAVE LIVES. WHY MUST WAIT TILL 40, AND NOT START AT 25? I WISH YOU LOTS OF LUCK IN YOUR RECOVERY.

andy

If you had a 90% chance of cancer in your appendix, would you have it removed. Breasts are not needed to survive.

removal ? both

Should I remove all my internal organs because there is a high

chance that genetic mutation might make cancer out of it when there is non to be found?

I mean removing the cancer infected organ is one thing...

removing other that is no yet infected is just silly.

Christina's Cancer

I applaud you for the removal of both breasts. Not many will think of that choice and the issue of more tumors in the future. As someone mentioned we never know when the cancer will strike again.

Keep your chin up.

Is there a history of Cancer in your family?

EARLY DETECTION, SAVES LIVES!!!!
