HIV/AIDS the True Epidemic
To stereotype this epidemic to a specific group is outrageous. HIV/AIDS regardless of how the individual contracts this disease, is the true epidemic of our time. In the next 15-25 years (give or take), it will touch most people’s lives indirectly or directly. Although this article focuses on a specific group, it will not matter what group one belongs too.
More education needs to happen on a worldwide scale, governments should form a group of researchers paid for by the government, not private corporations, to find a cure and vaccine (This needs to be done on the scale of the Manhattan project). This is not much different then the black plague was and it is only a matter of time before this disease will affect the majority of the population. We need to take a step back and remember that it isn’t just by drug or sexual activity you can contract this disease. Individuals on a daily basics contract it through dirty needles(From a Clinic, both developed and third world), blood transfusions, and simple accidental transfer of fluids from an affected person. If we continue to be complaisant billions of people are going to be infected and end up dieing.

Where is personal responsibility? Get with the program, and take accountability for your predicament. It's not my fault you have AIDS and then blame it on "racism".
It is also not my responsibility to take to care of you, if you don't care enough to take care of yourself.

disappointed in america - read john mcwhorter's losing the race (he's a black man... as i assume you are). also, either learn to spell or stop stealing other people's phrases. i'm going to assume if you know what cultural momentum is you should be able to spell "increadable challange" (sic) correctly.
a better class of person - i know you think it's only bigotry if a white man disparages a black man but you are wrong. your comments are so ironic they would be funny if i wasn't convinced a ton of other people thought like you.
actually, you know what's really ironic? the slogan of the black AIDS Institute is "Our People, Our Problem, Our Solution". Isn't it more like "Our People, The Evil White Bush Cabal Oil for Blood Racist Government's Problem, Any Solution but Personal Responsibility"?
why is it governments fault
There are tons of diseases that kill people. Why is it that AIDS is worse than cancer, lukemia, diabeties, MS? These diseases kill everyday.

Its the responsabilty of the US and State governments because it is clear that your country has failed to provide a decent education and decent opperunity for the portion of your popultation who'se cultural momentum from the past (i.e one generation away from legal segragation and 4 generations from slavery). It is an increadable challange for a community to overcome historical disadvantage because most cultural traits (beleifs, values, behaviours, etc) come from parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and so on. Now, most civilized countries address these issues through quality education program to 'break the cycle'. Its clear that your country has failed to achieve this in the Black community. Its also clear, given the ignorance of the issue that you display, that it has failed your community as well (I presume that you are a blue collar caucasian).

How in the hell is it the government's or anyone's fault that a person gets AIDS from sleeping around except for that person? I have had it up to my ears with Black America this and Black America that. I refuse to spend one more tax dollar that I pay for IDIOTS. Fix your own problems and stop blaming everyone else.
