More Problems With Plastics
Like BPA, chemicals called phthalates raise some concerns

Food containers
Pyrex containers have no phthalates, and they come in a variety of sizes. Does anyone know if Brita water pitchers have BPA or phthalates?
Also, has anyone else gotten red spots on their neck from some shampoos and conditioners? That may be caused by phthalates too. If they are part of the 'fragrance' the company doesn't have to list them. I think the presence of phthalates in a product should be clearly labeled so that we can avoid them if we choose.
re: research question
FYI-
I believe they enrolled infants and measured the distance between the base of the penis and the anus- apparently some type of marker of "masculinity". You can read about it yourself in the journal below. I don't know if there was any follow-up later in life. Just one more thing to worry about- if you're the doomsday type. Maybe this will wake people up about the many dangers of our diposable society.
Decrease in anogenital distance among male infants with prenatal phthalate exposure.Environ Health Perspect. 2005 Aug;113(8):1056-61. Erratum in: Environ Health Perspect. 2005 Sep;113(9):A583. PMID: 16079079
research question....
just wondering...sample size and exactly how many boys genitals did the researcher measure... assuming at date of birth or soon afterwards... cannot envision a research study that tracked and measured boys penis'/genital size later in life? Come on...this seems like an impossible research task.
bpa-free bottles
Luckily there are bpa-free options online now.... like www.newbornfree.com for plastic baby bottles and www.titanwaterbottle.com for bpa-free water bottles.
Why continue using products containing bishpenol a if we don't have to?
I'm still looking for a good place to buy bpa-free storage containers for food. Please post if you know of one!
