this article is a farce

after reading the complete absurdity of this article, then the ridiculous comments of ernie of FL, i felt compelled to post something. look ernie, if everything that you say happened to you, and that's taking YOUR word for it, then i can very comfortably say that those things happened because of your own character flaws. marijuana doesn't make people do anything. if you lost everything and let marijuana or any other substance take over your life, then you are a weak-willed person to begin with and you need something like pot to use as an excuse for your mistakes, bad judgement calls, and general character flaws. i'm 30 years old and have smoked marijuana for over 15 years now, and if something bad or unprogressive has occurred in my life, it was my fault not some plant or substance. i'm a productive member of society, and a fairly above-average intellectual person, and pot has never done anything harmfull to me health-wise or to my way of life. take responsibility for your OWN MISTAKES and stop using other things as your crutch. it's people like you who enable the utter nonesense that is spewed forth concerning marijuana and it's people like you who are making it difficult for those sick people who could benefit from pot to do so.

cannabis

Marijuana is not for everybody for some people it actually has good use such as, people with ADD, anxiety. Among many others and for them trying to say marijuana is addictive what do you hear about more people being addicted to alchohol and cigarettes ...... end of discussion

Economic Problems and Social Problems. One and the same?

President Obama has made it clear that he does not support the legalization of marijuana as comparable to alcohol and tobacco. I have been wanting to see it happen for a while now, but I do trust that the President has a clear head about this. If pot were to be legalized, I'd like to know if there is to be any serious plan involving its regulation. For those against, many say that it is damaging to motivation. Remember that motivation is a personal issue, characterized by many factors. Marijuana is neither the least or most important of these, but it is still very much contributable. I'm not going to back these statements up with facts. If you've extensively researched this subject (as I'm sure many of you have during the w e e hours.... you're doing it right now, aren't you....) then you can easily fill in the blanks. My main concerns with marijuana are social and economic (black market included). Each one is going to affect the other, and if we don't proceed carefully, we might be welcoming a whole new host of problems that are equal or more than equal to what we have now. I'd like to see reform on this issue by 2020 or sooner. If you've read Rev. Martin Luther King's letter from Birmingham jail, then you'd remember his words: Justice too long delayed is justice denied. Not the same, but similar. I'd like to see marijuana be given on a prescription basis. It would not need to be for any particular ailment, but it'd be good to have a doctor's evaluation during the beginning stages of your habit or treatment. Taking pot money away from criminal elements will be beneficial to our communities, both local, state, national, and international. Although, I'm concerned about legal, government supported action helping support international terrorism (South of TEXAS cartels (had to, sorry.. they'd throw a ninja star at me otherwise), Al Qaeda, Mafias...). We can always impose a ban on imports from other countries, but smuggling is obviously a very profitable business in America. On the other hand, with marijuana out of the lime light, gov't officials might have an easier time focusing on more devastating drugs, like Meth, crack, cocaine, ecstacy, etc. which ultimately can lead to violent crime or serious social repercussions. This isn't an issue that's going to worked out with polarized criticism. It does bring the issue into public view, but it does not bring a resolution. I'd like to hear rational arguments, please. Particularly, from President Obama, a detailed report on what we can expect with a change to this prohibition policy, and as importantly, what can we expect without it?

Quite!

I quite agree with the Ganja Blue, Marijuana or so the chemicals THC, CBN and CBVN are substances that cause a chemical reaction in the brain that releases dopamine into such stated brain.. when you drink a glass of water. Dopamine is released into the brain... marijuana does this on a higher level of course, and also involves other particulars that we will not go into for sake of time. There is a very... strange, for lack of better terms, stigma that is held with marijuana.. people. think, that it makes us stupid, and believe that it hevily impairs us, and believe me i've seen my share of stupid ass pot heads doin' some stupid ass shit. I have smoked marijuana everyday for closing in on 36 years, without this world is too obnoxious, the human race is laughable in concern, but that is not why we are here. Sobriety is for those who can't handle their acid. and remember, in truth why are we even worrying ourselves about what one human decides to intake into their body, for their reasons... so long as that human does not hurt any other human in doing such process, there is no reason to mitigate them. but nothing exists. The BODY (any "physical" type structure) is merely a falsified image, projected by an illusionary mind ("our" brains), onto fragments of an unreal existence (vibrations of light waves reflected off of energy) so that the spirit may have an unnecessary since of individuality. nothing is real. everything is energy, so quit your b*tchin' and let us smoke.

Why do you only think about your self and no one else?

Why are you always right and everyone else is wrong?

Why do you blame everything on someone else?

Why do you discard your love ones and attach your self to those that use you?

Why do you cough your head off all the time?

Why do you have head-aches when you don't toke?

Why do your eyes burn for no reason?

Why do you need to smoke a joint to go to bed?

Why do you wake up in the middle of the night only to have to smoke another joint to get back to sleep?

Why do need to smoke a joint with your coffee in the morning?

Why do you say that's a two joint trip instead of 20 mile trip.

Why do you need a joint after a long day at school?

Completely Laughable

As a daily cannabis user I'd challenge the answers to all these questions. I'm amazed at the ignorant drug war propaganda that is reported as health news. In a UCLA study researchers found no correlation between cannabis usage and cancer. In another study researchers found that cannabis beats opiates in relieving neuropathic pain. Unlike alcohol, cannabis has never killed anyone by overdose, from cirrhosis, from cancer. It focuses me, it relaxes me, it makes me more compassionate. I believe I am a better person for having found it. Its high time we re-legalize cannabis for both medicinal and recreational purposes.

Half of the info that these "experts" have provided seem to come directly from the DEA's book on marijuana "facts". The truth of the matter is that whether or not marijuana is good or bad for you, IT SHOULD NOT BE ILLEGAL!! Both alcohol and tobacco are far more addictive and far more dangerous than marijuana. They NEED to be legal in order to be controlled. Does anyone even remember something called...um.....PROHIBITION?? All of these people need to stop worrying about MY health and what I put into MY OWN BODY! The day I hurt somebody ELSE because of my marijuana use is the day you can lock me up. Until then, LEAVE ME AND ALL OTHER MARIJUANA SMOKERS ALONE!!!

It's interesting that for the 1st time the gov./health agencies are saying that they are not sure if it is really harmful because before it was sure fact. Unlike cigarettes marijuana does not have chemicals that causes cancer. There has been studies after studies that actually proved the opposite that in fact it stops the growth of tumors and eases pain. Why are we lyning to the teens. Why can't you say that it has its benefits BUT IT'S NOT FOR TEENS.If you are a teenager you do not need to use it,experiment it,have fun with it,get away with it. Just like alcohol it has its place where it's normal use is not harmful at all.

All your lying is going to do is backfire.

As a person of the drug abuse family for 25 years that started smoking marijuana for the 1st time in my teens (now 56 years old) I was a product of the environment that was smoking, dropping, snorting, hitting, tolking, dealing and YES

when your peers are doing drugs and dealing you will too. If you think it wont happen to you, WRONG! YOUR A PRODUCT OF YOUR ENVIRONMENT.

There is no spinning the truth. Because of my actions in my early life I lost family, real friends myfuture,3 marriage, children great jobs and opportunities and after 36 years still paying for my past mistakes. You can do what I have done and loose everything or Be all you can be. DONT THROW THE DICE WITH YOUR LIFE.
