A sweeping five-month study by the Associated Press shows that drugs "have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans." Or specifically, drugs were found in tap water of 24 major American metro areas. While the report is reassuring that only trace amounts were detected, scientists are concerned by the possible health consequences of long-term exposure.

As more baby boomers age and take prescription drugs for chronic conditions, the problem of drug mismanagement increases, according to an article in the Baltimore Sun.
